Understanding rules and regulations

For either staffed or un-staffed spaces, there are regulations and legal obligations you will need to understand.

It is equally important to be aware of your responsibilities if you are planning a one-off event or other activities to support the development of play provision in your area or campaigning for improvements.

Information about rules and regulations about staff and volunteers can be found in section 2.4 Staff and volunteers below.

This means:

  1. Land ownership and planning permission
  2. Keeping children safe
  3. Health and safety
  4. Insurance
  5. Registration and inspection of staffed play provision
