How Playful Communities is organised

The Playful Communities website is divided into three sections.

Each section takes you step-by-step through the process of planning, developing and maintaining new or refurbished play spaces or staffed projects.

You can start at any point in the process:

• Getting started covers who can get involved, how to work with local people, and knowing about other local initiatives around play provision
• Making it happen is a step-by-step guide to the process, from deciding what you need to deliver either staffed or un-staffed provision; guidance about legal issues, design, raising money, commissioning the provision and, where appropriate, finding staff and volunteers
• Keeping it going deals with how you ensure quality, on-going funding, plus publicity and promotion.

Each section contains useful ideas and signposts to handy resources, websites and organisations. You can download sections to read later for convenience.
